Event Description
Are you a Veteran who has faced moral and ethical challenges in combat or during your service to our country? Have you ever had to act in ways that went against your personal moral code or felt conflicted by the unethical or immoral behavior of others (especially of those in leadership positions)? Have you witnessed intense human suffering or cruelty that shook you to your core and made you question your beliefs?  If so, you may be dealing with moral injury... an invisible wound distinct from PTSD or traumatic brain injury. We are introducing a film series at the Chris Kyle Veteran Center to open a dialogue with interested Veterans who want to learn more about moral injury. On the last Friday of each month, we will show a film that is related to the moral and ethical challenges that service-members may have faced in combat or at some point during their military service. Most of the films will be related to war, others will deal with Military Sexual Trauma (MST).  Popcorn and drinks will be provided and you may leave immediately following the movie or stay after for a moderated discussion about the film. The first film is "Hostiles" and will be shown on 25 Jan 2019, immediately following the Open House at the Chris Kyle Veterans Center.
